Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Shift Details

• Shift: Evening/Night
• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Timing: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license or Compact RN license.
• Current BLS, NRP, and FHM certifications.
• Minimum 3 years of travel nursing experience in Labor & Delivery and couplet care/postpartum/mother-baby.
• Must be willing to take call.
• Must be willing to float as a sitter and participate in rotational floating assignments.
• Must comply with the Washington Nurse Practice Act and applicable nursing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients.
• Develop, implement, and reassess individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications and perform nursing procedures and treatments.
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, care plans, and patient responses.
• Evaluate discharge plans and identify patient education needs.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care provided by assistive personnel.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care.
• Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance evaluation activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of clinical workflows and evidence-based nursing practices.
