Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to lead day-to-day payables operations for a contract position. This role will oversee invoice workflows, reimbursement processing, and vendor disbursements while helping ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. The position will also work closely with accounting and finance teams to support close activities, strengthen controls, and address payment-related issues.

Responsibilities:

• Direct daily accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices, employee expenses, and vendor payments are reviewed and processed accurately and on schedule.

• Supervise and support AP team members, assign priorities, and promote consistent performance across core payables functions.

• Review invoice coding and approval routing to maintain proper account classification and policy compliance.

• Oversee payment execution through check runs and ACH transactions while confirming completeness and accuracy before release.

• Investigate and resolve vendor questions, payment discrepancies, and outstanding items in a timely and thorough manner.

• Partner with accounting and finance leadership to assist with month-end close tasks, reconciliations, and reporting support.

• Maintain and improve internal controls within the payables process to reduce risk and support audit readiness.

• Monitor process efficiency and, when applicable, support operational updates or system-related changes affecting accounts payable workflows.

• Proven experience leading or supervising an accounts payable function in a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment processing, and vendor management.
• Hands-on experience managing check runs and ACH payments with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to review transactions for proper coding and ensure adherence to internal controls and company procedures.
• Solid understanding of month-end close support activities and coordination with accounting or finance teams.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills for handling vendor issues and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and oversee multiple payables activities simultaneously.
