Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the credentialing and privileging process for physicians and allied health providers.

• Process initial appointments, reappointments, and focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE).

• Perform primary source verification and ensure credential files are accurate, complete, and compliant.

• Maintain provider records and medical staff databases.

• Support provider onboarding, including computer access, orientation, training coordination, and badging.

• Ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws, hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical staff information.

• Collaborate with medical staff leadership, providers, and hospital departments to facilitate credentialing activities.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

• Current CPCS (Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) certification required.

• Experience with Epic required.

• Strong understanding of credentialing, privileging, and medical staff services processes.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
