Systems Engineer / Systems Administrator - PERM Direct

Part-Time Systems & Network Engineer (Direct Hire | 34 Hours/Week)

ONSITE: Des Moines, Iowa with Off-Hours support = Onsite & Remote

Part-time Hourly position PLUS Overtime Pay: $56 / hour.

We are seeking a hands-on Systems & Network Engineer for a permanent direct hire, part-time opportunity working 34 hours per week. This role offers a flexible schedule with some off-hours and evening onsite work to support maintenance, updates, and infrastructure changes with minimal business disruption.

What You’ll Do

• Administer and support server, systems, and network infrastructure
• Maintain and enhance VMware and Windows Server environments
• Manage switching, routing, firewall, and network connectivity
• Support Azure and cloud-focused infrastructure initiatives
• Oversee Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Exchange Online
• Handle patching, updates, alerting, and infrastructure maintenance
• Coordinate scheduled server and network changes, including communication around downtime and maintenance windows
• Support audit readiness, compliance controls, and infrastructure documentation
• Assist with modernization efforts involving VPN, remote access, cloud migration, and data center improvements
• Take ownership of projects and independently drive issues through resolution

Technical Background Needed

Candidates should have current, hands-on experience across both systems and networking.

Preferred experience includes:

*Systems administration and network engineering

*Windows Server & VMware

*Cisco networking, including Cisco Routers, Switches, firewalls, and Cisco Meraki

*Citrix technologies

*Azure and Active Directory

*Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online

*SAN/storage administration

*PowerShell scripting

*Patch management and infrastructure lifecycle support

*Remote access technologies such as VPN solutions, Tailscale, or similar tools

*Exposure to Parallels RAS is a plus
