Estimator - HVAC and Mechanical

An established mechanical contractor is seeking an HVAC Estimator to support large commercial and institutional construction projects throughout South Florida. This position is responsible for reviewing drawings and specifications, performing detailed takeoffs, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and preparing accurate estimates for HVAC and mechanical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have direct HVAC estimating experience or a strong mechanical estimating background within the MEP construction industry. This is a great opportunity to work on large-scale healthcare, hospitality, education, correctional, and commercial construction projects while joining an established and growing mechanical contractor.

Responsibilities:
* Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
* Perform detailed digital takeoffs for HVAC systems, ductwork, equipment, controls, and mechanical piping systems
* Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates
* Develop bid worksheets, quantity surveys, labor summaries, and project proposals
* Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors
* Review vendor quotations for scope coverage, pricing, and exclusions
* Develop RFIs and bid clarifications when project discrepancies are identified
* Assist in preparing hard bids, project budgets, and bid-day analyses
* Maintain organized estimating documentation, bid files, and vendor pricing records
* Participate in project turnover meetings upon award
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, and contractors

Qualifications:
* 4+ years of HVAC, mechanical, or MEP estimating experience
* Experience performing itemized digital takeoffs
* Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical construction systems
* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, equipment schedules, and bid documents
* Experience preparing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
* Experience using digital takeoff and 3D estimating software
* Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines
