Field Service Technician

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on refuse and recycling equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and other equipment necessary to complete repairs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Perform repairs and maintenance at customer locations and in the field.
• Follow company procedures and manufacturer recommendations when servicing equipment.
• Safely operate and work around refuse, recycling, and related industrial equipment.
• Complete service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate with customers regarding equipment issues, completed repairs, and recommended maintenance.
• Document work performed, parts and materials used, and customer notes using mobile field service software.
• Maintain accurate service records and submit required documentation.
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct when representing the company at customer locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay range $28.00 to $32.00 per hour Prevailing wage sometimes applies

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or related systems preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Ability to learn and understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• English proficiency required.
• Basic computer and smartphone skills.
• Ability to use mobile field service software to document service calls, materials used, and customer information.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.

• Equipment maintenance or repair
• Hydraulic systems
• Electrical troubleshooting

• Welding or fabrication
• Construction or equipment installation
• Heavy equipment
• Waste and recycling equipment
• Manufacturing or production equipment
• Field service technician experience

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday
6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Overtime may be required based on business and customer needs.
