Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location

Rockford, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Rotational call coverage required, including potential weekend call (Saturday or Sunday, not both; 24-hour call)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled perioperative nursing care within a cardiovascular operating room setting as part of a dedicated heart team
• Participate in rotational call coverage, which may include one call shift per week and occasional Saturday or Sunday weekend call (24-hour call, not both days)
• Support and assist with robotic-assisted cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary heart team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable CVOR experience
• Robotic surgical experience required
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working within a specialized heart team or cardiovascular surgery program
• Familiarity with a variety of open and minimally invasive cardiovascular surgical procedures
