Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, maintaining a 1:5 patient ratio
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as needed
• Manage central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care; manage feeding tubes, PCAs, surgical drains, tracheostomies, wound care, and wound vacs
• Float within scope of care to meet unit needs as required; complete a pass/fail telemetry interpretation exam during orientation

Required Qualifications

• Valid Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience required
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code Team, pre/post cardiac catheterization, heparin protocols, and non-titratable cardiac drips required
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
