About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Survey CAD Technician with experience using Civil 3D to join our team in Lake Hopatcong, NJ.

We are an established multidisciplinary firm providing land surveying, civil engineering, land planning, and related services. Our team works on a variety of projects and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality deliverables while maintaining strong client relationships and a collaborative work environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented CAD professional who understands surveying principles, enjoys working with field survey data, and can translate that information into accurate survey drawings and plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise boundary, topographic, existing conditions, and ALTA/NSPS land title survey drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Process and incorporate field survey data into CAD drawings.
• Create and maintain survey linework, points, surfaces, contours, and other drawing elements.
• Interpret field notes, survey data, deeds, maps, and project plans to develop accurate survey deliverables.
• Assist with preparation of existing conditions plans, boundary surveys, and other land surveying documents.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with field crews, surveyors, project managers, and other technical staff to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate deliverables.
• Maintain organized drawing files, project documentation, and CAD standards.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.
• Identify potential drafting or data discrepancies and communicate issues to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Survey CAD Technician, Survey Drafter, or in a similar CAD-focused surveying role.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of land surveying concepts, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and existing conditions mapping.
• Ability to interpret field notes, survey data, deeds, maps, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with survey coordinate systems, bearings, distances, elevations, and contours.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
