Starting Pay: $22.00/hour  |  Full-Time | Approximately 35–40+ hours/week


Low Country Quisine is seeking an experienced Catering Cook with strong culinary fundamentals and high-volume production experience. This position requires someone who can independently execute recipes and production assignments and is comfortable working with both hot and cold food production for catered events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale events serving hundreds of guests.


Responsibilities


• Read, understand and independently execute established recipes.
• Accurately scale recipes for large-volume production.
• Execute multiple production assignments according to deadlines.
• Sear and mark meats and other proteins.
• Sauté, roast, grill, fry and execute other professional cooking techniques.
• Prepare and properly finish sauces, gravies, reductions and other scratch-made components.
• Cook proteins accurately and consistently according to established specifications.
• Execute large-batch production while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Prepare hors d’oeuvres and composed catering menu components.
• Assist with charcuterie, fruit, cheese and crudité displays when needed.
• Understand proper seasoning, texture, temperature and doneness.
• Follow established recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Assist with plating and food execution at catered events.
• Maintain food-safety, sanitation and temperature-control standards.
• Organize production and work independently from production sheets.

Qualifications


Professional cooking experience is required. Catering, banquet, hotel, country club, restaurant or high-volume culinary experience is strongly preferred.

Candidates must demonstrate solid culinary fundamentals and should be comfortable being assigned a recipe and production quantity and executing it correctly without constant supervision. This is not an entry-level position.
