Pay Rate: Starting at $27.00/hour

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday | 6:45 AM-5:15 PM

Additional Requirement: On-call availability required

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and dependable OR Technician to support a leading healthcare organization in Sugar Land, TX. This opportunity is ideal for a skilled surgical professional with strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, operating room procedures, and perioperative support. The successful candidate will help surgical teams deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care across a variety of specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative support by preparing and handling surgical equipment and instrumentation.

   

• Function as a scrub assistant to physicians during surgical and invasive procedures.

   

• Prepare the operating room with the appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures.

   

• Maintain a safe, organized, and sterile surgical environment in accordance with infection prevention standards.

   

• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments and supplies during procedures.

   

• Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse and follow established clinical protocols and competency guidelines.

   

• Support procedures across multiple specialties, including General Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, Orthopedics, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.

   

• Assist with robotic-assisted procedures, including Mako robotics, and neurospine surgeries.

   

• Monitor and maintain surgical instruments and equipment to support proper functionality and patient safety.

   

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other operating room staff to promote efficient surgical workflows.

   

• Serve as a resource and role model for team members by demonstrating strong technical knowledge and professional practices.

   

• Participate in on-call coverage as required.

   

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.

   

• Experience supporting surgical procedures in an operating room setting.

   

• Experience with General Surgery, Gynecology, ENT, Orthopedics, Urology, and Vascular procedures.

   

• Experience with Mako robotics, robotic-assisted surgery, and neurospine procedures.

   

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterile technique.

   

• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

   

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

   

• Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

   

• Availability to meet the scheduled shifts and on-call requirements.
