Construction Laborer

IMMEDIATELY HIRING EXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION LABORERS IN YADKINVILLE, NCPAY UP TO $22 PER HOUR + OT + PD

This role involves supporting metal fabrication and rigging operations by measuring, cutting, grinding, and preparing metal components according to specifications. You will work closely with skilled tradespeople as a hands-on helper, using a variety of hand and power tools to assist with material handling, basic assembly, and general site support in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Use measuring tools, including tape measures with precision up to 1/32", to measure materials and verify dimensions against specifications.
• Cut metal components to exact measurements using appropriate saws and other cutting tools.
• Operate a grinder to grind down metal parts and prepare them for welding or further fabrication.
• Assist skilled tradespeople by gathering materials, tools, and supplies needed for ongoing tasks.
• Act as a general helper on site, supporting rigging and machinery-moving activities as directed by lead personnel.
• Perform general cleanup duties to maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Handle material gathering and staging to ensure workstations remain stocked and ready.
• Follow detailed directions from lead technicians and supervisors to complete tasks accurately and safely.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for basic assembly and fabrication tasks.
• Monitor saw blades and other consumables and recognize when they need to be changed or serviced.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic by staying active, assisting team members, and completing tasks in a timely manner.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe tool operation.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use tape measures accurately, including reading measurements down to 1/32".
• Experience using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and other basic mechanical tools.
• Experience using power tools, including saws and grinders, in a safe and controlled manner.
• Understanding of when to change out blades on saws and similar cutting tools.
• Comfort working with metals, including measuring, cutting, and basic fabrication tasks.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn new tools and processes quickly.
• Strong verbal communication skills to follow instructions and coordinate with team members.
• Ability to perform physically active work, including standing, walking, and carrying materials throughout the shift.
• Reliable work ethic, with a positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in construction, metal fabrication, or general labor environments.
• Experience in helper roles supporting skilled trades or rigging operations.
• Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions from lead personnel and work effectively as part of a team.
• Good attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yadkinville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
