Job Title: Downstream Operator

Job Description

The role of a General Production Worker involves supporting the offline department by preparing and managing materials before and after production lines. You will be responsible for building steel reels, feeding the lines, and managing scrap for disposal or recycling. While forklift experience is not required, it is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Build steel reels for production lines using bolts, hand, and power tools.
• Operate in a grinding area, including loading scrap reels onto a grinder and manually cutting scraps.
• Assist with machine operations, including regrinding chunks, setting up machines, and adjusting extruder machines.
• Ensure efficient processing of materials from reels to grinders to pellets.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of one year experience in industrial manufacturing, excluding warehouse experience.
• Ability to remain active and on your feet all day in a physically demanding role.
• Experience with tools such as measuring tape, extrusion machines, grinders, impact guns, and saws.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Cross-trainable with a experience in construction or automotive preferred.
• Familiarity with machine operation and general labor tasks, including pallet jack operation, lifting, and inventory management.

Work Environment

Work in a team-oriented, non-climate controlled manufacturing facility. Operate on a 2-2-3 schedule with 12-hour shifts, alternating between 48-hour and 36-hour work weeks. The environment is proactive, requiring you to stay busy and on your feet throughout the day.

This is a Contract position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
