Ardor Health Solutions is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a skilled nursing travel contract at Oak Crest in DeKalb, Illinois!
This is an excellent opportunity for a COTA who enjoys working with adult and geriatric patients in a skilled nursing rehabilitation environment, helping residents regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Position Overview
You'll work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide individualized rehabilitation services to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery and other conditions affecting their daily functioning.
Responsibilities
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans established by the supervising OT
- Provide therapeutic activities and exercises
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Address upper-extremity strength, coordination and functional mobility
- Provide training in adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques
- Work with patients recovering from orthopedic and neurological conditions
- Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP and other rehabilitation professionals
- Document patient progress and treatment interventions
- Support discharge planning and patient safety
Qualifications
- Active Illinois COTA license
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- NBCOT certification, as applicable
- Skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
