JANITORS

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter/Janitorial Worker to join our team in Brooklyn. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept facilities. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and wash assigned areas.
• Strip, seal, wax, and buff floors and other hard surfaces.
• Maintain sidewalks and exterior grounds by sweeping, removing debris, raking leaves, and shoveling snow as needed.
• Clean vacant apartments and occupied units as assigned through work orders.
• Sort and package recyclable materials in accordance with NYC recycling regulations.
• Safely operate the building's trash compactor.
• Set up and break down meeting rooms and special events.
• Assist maintenance staff, including painters and engineers, with assigned tasks.
• Travel to other properties or facilities when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check (required).
• Previous porter, janitorial, or custodial experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, walk, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
