PACU and OR Staff Nurse

DuPage Eye Surgery is an ophthalmology surgery center currently seeking full time PreOp/Postop and OR RNs to provide nursing care to our surgical patients. The shifts consist of Full time Monday - Friday with benefits. Employees do not work weekends and the facility observe 6 paid holidays for full time employees.

PACU Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of our surgical patients in the pre and post-anesthesia unit.
• Communicating accurate and timely information regarding patients and their care efficiently.
• Organizing a plan of care that incorporates physician prescribed treatments, nursing assessments and diagnostic data in a timely manner.

OR Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Circulating various Ophthalmology cases.
• Ensures patient safety during surgery.
• Monitors the implementation of sterile technique.
• Documents nursing care.
• Addresses any environmental hazards.
• Ensures the scrub team is appropriately prepared,

Requirements for the position are:

• Current IL RN License
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• BLS certification / ACLS certification preferred
• Two years or more of PACU or OR experience preferred
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and co-workers
