Ampian Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Pathologists' Assistant (PA) for a travel contract assignment at a hospital in beautiful South Texas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, independent PA who enjoys working in a hospital environment and is comfortable managing grossing responsibilities with minimal supervision.

• Day Shift: Monday through Friday

• No weekends

• Hospital-based pathology laboratory

• Single PA opening

• Independent grossing responsibilities

• Competitive travel compensation and benefits

• Independently perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.

• Handle a variety of surgical specimens while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

• Ensure proper specimen identification, orientation, sectioning, and documentation.

• Prepare tissue sections for histological processing.

• Maintain compliance with laboratory safety standards, quality assurance procedures, and established protocols.

• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory personnel to support efficient workflow.

• Must be experienced and capable of grossing independently without another PA on-site.

• Experience in a hospital-based surgical pathology laboratory preferred.

• Proficiency in grossing both routine and complex surgical specimens.

• ASCP certification preferred but not required.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

• Previous travel or contract experience is a plus but not required.
