Estimator Project Manager

We are seeking a full-time Estimator/Project Manager to support an excavation company’s site development, utility installation, and mixed excavation projects. Reporting to the company owner, this role will prepare bids, manage projects on site, track job performance, and maintain strong communication with clients across a single local service area. The position uses spreadsheets, manual tools, and estimating software, with a growth path toward Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive bids and detailed cost estimates.
• Review and interpret construction plans.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support cost control.
• Manage excavation projects on site from start through completion.
• Track job progress, schedules, costs, and performance.
• Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, and field activities.
• Communicate effectively with clients and address project needs.
• Prepare and manage change orders and progress reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating and project management.
• Associate degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Experience with construction estimating and plan reading.
• Background in excavation project management.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Experience managing change orders and client communications.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing site safety.
