Staff Accountant II

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant II performs intermediate-level accounting functions with moderate supervision, supporting the month-end and year-end close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities. This role typically sits between an entry-level Staff Accountant I and a Senior Accountant, taking on more complex analysis and increased ownership of specific accounting areas.

Key Responsibilities

•        Manage full cycle month-end close activities for assigned accounts/entities

•        Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries

•        Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet)

•        Analyze month-to-month variances

•        Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met

•        Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies

•        Assist with internal and external audit requests

•        Support cash management activities, including cash application and bank transaction monitoring

Qualifications

Education:

•        Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

Experience:

•        2–4 years of progressive accounting experience

•        Job cost accounting experience

Skills & Competencies:

•        Advanced Excel skills

•        Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

•        High attention to detail and accuracy

•        Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

•        Good written and verbal communication skills

•        Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Physical / Work Environment

•        100% in- office position, with a 9/80 work schedule offered

•        Occasional extended hours during month-end/quarter-end/year-end close
