Position Overview

Alaska Air Forwarding is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to join our operations team as a Night Operations Agent.

This position combines warehouse operations, air freight tracking, and communication with our company's second location. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring freight is received, processed, and tracked accurately while maintaining clear communication with other team members.

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, and capable of handling both physical warehouse duties and computer-based responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and check in incoming freight shipments.
• Track freight moving on commercial and cargo airlines.
• Monitor flight schedules and provide accurate shipment status updates.
• Communicate flight information, freight arrivals, and potential delays to our company's second location.
• Operate forklifts to safely load, unload, and move freight.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including lifting and moving freight.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information in company computer systems.
• Identify and communicate shipment discrepancies, delays, or operational issues.
• Coordinate with other employees to ensure freight is processed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with additional warehouse and operational responsibilities as needed.

• Ability to perform physical warehouse work, including lifting and moving freight.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Willingness to learn company procedures and freight management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or warehousing.
• Forklift operating experience.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with airline cargo operations or shipment tracking systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Guaranteed Annual Salary: $58,240

This position offers a guaranteed annual salary equivalent to $28.00 per hour based on a 40-hour workweek.

• Guaranteed Salary: Employees receive their full base salary regardless of whether they work 30, 35, or 40 hours during a normal workweek.
• Overtime Compensation: This is a salaried, nonexempt position. Hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek will be compensated at 1.5 times the applicable regular hourly rate. The intended overtime rate is $42.00 per hour.

• Dental Insurance: Full dental insurance coverage provided by Alaska Air Forwarding.
• Vision Insurance: Full vision insurance coverage provided by Alaska Air Forwarding.
• Paid Vacation:
• • One week of paid vacation annually after completing one year of employment.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation annually after completing five years of employment.
• Paid Sick Leave: Provided in accordance with Washington State law.

Work Schedule

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, beginning at 2:00 PM.

Daily shifts generally range from 6 to 8 hours, depending on freight volume, airline schedules, and operational requirements.

Employees will receive their guaranteed salary even when operational needs result in shorter workweeks

Based in Seattle, our company ships consolidated freight to the Alaska, the lower 48 states and specific international destinations as well. Alaska Air Forwarding utilizes all forms of transportation though it specializes in Air Freight to the greater Alaska Region.
