Position Overview

NuWest is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant for a 26–52 week contract in Ekalaka, Montana. You’ll support patients in a rural outpatient setting, guiding them through exercises and functional activities under the direction of the staff Physical Therapist. Private studio housing is available at no charge.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruct, motivate, safeguard, and assist patients in therapeutic exercises and functional activities under the direction of the staff Physical Therapist
• Observe patients during treatment, compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress, and report findings to the staff Physical Therapist
• Monitor vital signs and apply cardiovascular and respiratory precautions for patients receiving physical medicine services
• Apply physical therapy modalities in line with established plans of care
• Operate physical therapy equipment safely and help with routine maintenance and repairs
• Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and physical medicine to support safe, effective treatment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience
• Satisfactory completion of Physical Therapy Aide Competency Evaluation and job training
• Current BLS certification
• Working knowledge of physical therapy modalities, equipment operation, and maintenance
• Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening
