Danny Herman Trucking is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Night Dispatcher to support our transportation operations at our Mountain City corporate location.

This position works closely with company drivers, dispatch operations and customers to help maintain on-time freight delivery, support safe and compliant operations, resolve transportation issues and ensure clear communication between shifts.

The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, understands transportation operations and follows through on problems until they are resolved or properly handed off.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Monitor assigned trucks and freight movements to help ensure on-time deliveries.
• Monitor driver hours of service and support compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
• Communicate dispatch assignments, instructions, route changes and important operational information to drivers.
• Identify potential service failures and work proactively to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with drivers and customers regarding freight movements and delivery expectations.
• Enter customer orders, assist with unit planning and support the company's freight requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, service concerns and actions taken during the shift.
• Provide detailed shift handoff notes to the next dispatcher or day-shift operations.
• Assist with Driver Manager responsibilities when needed.
• Follow through on outstanding customer and driver concerns.

**Qualifications and Skills**

• High school diploma or equivalent; or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of transportation dispatching and driver hours-of-service requirements.
• Familiarity with AS-400 and QUALCOMM systems.
• Ability to estimate transportation and travel times between locations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with drivers, customers and management professionally.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and follow-through abilities.
• Comfortable working with computers, office systems and operational software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during a night dispatch shift.

**Compensation** Annual salary: $42,000–$45,000, depending on experience.
