Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate direct patient care for all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with established guidelines, including the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• Perform physical demands of the role including standing and walking for most of the shift, lifting, pushing, and maneuvering patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold Missouri licensure
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA only are required
• TNCC certification required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date (may be submitted without, but must obtain before beginning assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility — experience level must be clearly indicated on resume
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in trauma and/or pediatric emergency care
• Background in high-volume environments of 200+ patients per day
• High-acuity emergency department experience
• Personality traits that align with a busy urban trauma environment: determined, decisive, and flexible
