Position Details

We are seeking part-time Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our caregiving team in the Iowa City area.

• Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Location: Iowa City, Iowa, and surrounding service areas as applicable
• Employment type: part-time opportunities
• Schedule: Various shifts may be available; specific schedules will be discussed during the hiring process

Requirements

• Current CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
• At least one year of CNA experience preferred. Experience in home care, a nursing home, a hospital, or assisted living is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional bedside manner.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal care plan instructions.
• Ability to confidently read, write, and understand spoken English to communicate effectively and safely provide client care.
• Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a commitment to following through on responsibilities.
• A positive, empathetic attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.
• Willingness to work as part of a team, act with honesty and integrity, and consistently strive to provide exceptional care.

What You'll Do

As a CNA with BrightStar Care of Iowa City, you will help clients maintain their comfort, dignity, and independence while providing compassionate, personalized care.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Helping with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation as appropriate.
• Providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful interaction.
• Assisting with meals and hydration, as directed by the client's care plan.
• Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition or behavior.
• Following individualized care plans and established care procedures.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Communicating professionally with clients, families, and the care team.
• Respecting each client's privacy, preferences, dignity, and independence.
• Demonstrating our GROWS values through dependable, compassionate, and respectful care.
