Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports daily warehouse operations by preparing outbound shipments, receiving and unpacking inbound orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role restocks materials for assemblers and manufacturing associates, uses computer-based inventory systems, and operates sit-down forklift equipment in a climate-controlled facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer and internal orders for outbound shipment, ensuring accuracy, proper packaging, and correct labeling.
• Receive inbound orders, unload materials, and unpack shipments in a timely and organized manner.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation to confirm quantities, item descriptions, and condition.
• Restock inventory and materials in designated storage locations to support assemblers and manufacturing associates.
• Use computer skills and the inventory system to enter, update, and track inventory transactions and stock levels.
• Select and stage orders (order picking) according to work orders and shipping schedules.
• Package products securely to prevent damage during transit and comply with shipping requirements.
• Operate sit-down forklift equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials and finished goods.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in shipping, receiving, and storage zones.
• Collaborate with a team of warehouse and production staff to meet daily shipping and receiving deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Experience performing shipping and receiving duties in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Ability to prepare outbound shipments and unpack inbound orders accurately and efficiently.
• Proficiency using basic computer skills to navigate and update an inventory system.
• Capability to restock inventory and prepare materials for assemblers and manufacturing associates.
• Skill in order selection, including picking, staging, and verifying orders.
• Experience with packaging materials and methods to protect products during shipment.
• Ability to operate sit-down forklift equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail when handling inventory, documentation, and labels.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a warehouse team and communicate clearly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift certification is a bonus and enhances consideration for the role.
• Previous experience using inventory management software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving best practices, including documentation and labeling, is beneficial.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fayetteville, AR.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
