LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT (LRE) PARAPROFESSIONAL

NATURE OF THE POSITION:

Works collaboratively with general and special education staff to ensure students have the support they need to be successful academically, behaviorally, and socially. Will work 1:1 or small groups to
assist with lessons and completing assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet at least one of the following:
1. At least two (2) years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (minimum of 60 credit hours)
2. An associate degree (or higher)
3. Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment:
a. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in, instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or
b. Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics as
appropriate.

4. Passing ETS Parapro assessment with passing score of 460

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
1. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring.
2. Provide instructional support services under the supervision of a teacher.
3. Provide monitoring services during testing sessions.
4. Assist with the Title 1 program: complete necessary paperwork for the Title 1 program.
5. Prepare the classroom for subsequent instruction.
6. Supervise pupils in learning center activities: computer lab, library, or media, etc.
7. Read to children, listen to children read, explain assignments to children, etc.
8. Respond to all levels of supervision.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
1. Satisfactory criminal background check.
2. Patience, proactive, and confidential professional.
