Ecommerce Associate

Position Summary 

The eCommerce Associate is responsible for accurately fulfilling online customer orders, supporting inventory movement between sales channels, and delivering exceptional customer service across Marieke Gouda's retail, café, and eCommerce operations. This position ensures orders are processed accurately and shipped on time while providing operational support to the Retail Store and Café during peak periods or staffing needs. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, adaptable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift throughout the day. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

eCommerce Order Fulfillment 

Process and fulfill online orders received through Shopify, Faire, and other sales channels.  

Pick, package, and prepare products for shipment according to company standards.  

Verify order accuracy, product quality, and packaging requirements prior to shipment.  

Generate shipping labels and process shipments through designated shipping platforms.  

Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely delivery.  

Monitor order queues and ensure orders are shipped within established service levels.  

Resolve order discrepancies and communicate issues to management as needed.  

Assist with inventory transfers between eCommerce, retail, and warehouse inventory locations.  

Store Order Management 

Prepare and fulfill inventory replenishment requests for the Retail Store and Café.  

Coordinate product transfers between production, warehouse, retail, and café operations.  

Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and transfers.  

Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification activities.  

Communicate inventory shortages and product availability concerns to management.  

Retail Store Support 

Provide customer service support in the Retail Store as needed.  

Assist customers with product selection and purchases.  

Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently.  

Restock merchandise and maintain attractive product displays.  

Support seasonal promotions, events, and product launches.  

Maintain store cleanliness and organization.  

Café Support 

Assist Café team members during peak business periods or staffing shortages.  

Provide friendly and professional customer service.  

Support food and beverage preparation as trained.  

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.  

Assist with stocking and inventory replenishment.  

Customer Service 

Respond to customer inquiries regarding online orders, shipping status, and product information.  

Resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.  

Escalate customer issues requiring management attention.  

Represent the Marieke Gouda brand positively in all customer interactions.  

General Responsibilities 

Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.  

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.  

Assist with special events, tours, and company activities as needed.  

Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.  

Qualifications 

Education 

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.  

Experience 

Previous retail, customer service, warehouse, fulfillment, or food service experience preferred.  

Experience with Shopify, ShipStation, or eCommerce platforms is a plus.  

Experience operating a point-of-sale system is preferred.
