Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving a mix of medical patients across specialties including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, and surgical populations
• Maintain a staffing ratio of 1:5–6 patients; ratios may flex to 7–8 with LPN support paired alongside the RN
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and patient care technicians
• Float to other Med Surg units as needed, typically approximately once per week based on unit needs
• Adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirements
• Must be available for the first two weeks of assignment for facility orientation

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN License required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required; pending certification accepted with confirmed willingness to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Willingness to float to other Med Surg units as directed
• Willingness to work with a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and techs
• Locals are welcome and accepted; no radius restrictions apply (note: some specialties may have local rate distinctions — see job details)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Medical Surgical nursing experience preferred
• Experience working across multiple Med Surg specialty populations (ortho, neurovascular, cardiology, pulmonary, surgical)
• Flexibility with scheduling; block scheduling is not available for this assignment
