Shipping and Receiving Associate

POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse Associate is responsible for packing, shipping and receiving inventory on a daily basis. This position handles product in the form of forklift and aerial lift equipment parts and accessories. Responsibilities include taking orders both via paper and electronically and fulfilling them as well as troubleshooting and tracking backorders and missed shipments. The Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse Associate may also utilize pallet jacks to move equipment and parts to different locations within the warehouse. The Shipping and Receiving/Warehouse Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. This position also works with representatives in other departments to answer questions about incoming shipments, backorders and other issues related to parts inventory. This position works on site at W.D. Matthews in the shipping area, standing at a bench or in a warehouse for the majority of the day. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work based on the urgency of outgoing and incoming shipments. This position requires the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Navision to track incoming and outgoing shipments and adjust inventory levels accordingly. Prior shipping and receiving and/or warehouse experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

·        Pick and pack parts from on-screen and paper sales orders, transfer orders and packing lists

·        Receive inventory from on-screen purchase orders and replenish physical inventory as needed from these shipments

·        Conduct re-ship activity, receiving parts in to one side of the bench and shipping out on the other side of the bench with speed and accuracy

·        Pick stock transfers to branch locations as well as service van locations on a weekly basis

·        Track all backorder situations and missed shipments for communication to parts department staff

·        Work with parts counter staff routinely to solve issues and ensure accurate shipping is achieved

·        Utilize a pallet jack to move equipment and parts to different locations within the warehouse

·        Help to conduct physical inventory via cycle counting and conventional counting

·        Maintain a working knowledge of inventory and inventory locations

·        Maintain a clean and organized parts warehouse in day-to-day operations

·        Drive forklift to aid in receiving and loading inventory

·        Other duties as assigned
