Manual Lathe Machinist

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist needed to set up and operate manual machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and restore precision components. Must be able to read blueprints, hold tight tolerances, perform inspections, and work safely with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, boring mills, drills, and related equipment.
• Machine, repair, and modify metal components to specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools.
• Maintain quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Work collaboratively with shop personnel to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Machinist apprenticeship, trade school training, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of manual machining experience.
• Ability to work to close tolerances and perform dimensional inspections.
• Knowledge of machining practices, cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to work independently and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in an industrial/shop environment.
