We're looking for an experienced Service Plumbing & Heating Mechanic who brings practical skills, dependable work habits, and a professional approach to every service call.

In this role, you’ll perform plumbing and heating installations, maintenance, and repairs while guiding a helper and coordinating with your supervisor and dispatch. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of the assignment, keeps the work organized, and knows when to ask for direction.

What You’ll Do

• Install, maintain, modify, and repair plumbing and heating systems and equipment.
• Assess service issues, communicate findings, and complete assigned work within your supervisor’s direction.
• Guide helper/apprentice, providing clear instructions and reinforcing safe, efficient work practices.
• Coordinate tool setup, material organization, and jobsite cleanup with your helper.
• Keep the service van clean, organized, and stocked with the tools, equipment, and supplies needed for the day.
• Communicate daily with your supervisor and dispatch about job progress, material needs, delays, and issues requiring guidance or approval.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and treat customers and their property with respect.
• Report safety concerns and helper performance issues promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• Proven hands-on experience in service plumbing and heating.
• Working knowledge of plumbing and sprinkler systems, with a basic understanding of applicable NYC DOB codes.
• A valid driver’s license held for at least five years and a clean driving record.
• A valid 40-hour SST card.
• The ability to complete assignments within established instructions and work practices, seeking supervisory direction and approval when needed.
• Strong organization, communication, and customer service skills.
• The ability to stay focused under pressure, manage deadlines, and maintain a professional attitude.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality
• Willingness and availability to work extended hours as needed, especially during peak season.
