Warehouse Worker /Picker/Packer/Immediate Start

Position: Warehouse Worker (with Forklift)

Location: Norcross GA 30071

Client: Leading Tools Manufacturing Industry 

Duration: 6 months contract

Payrate: $18/hr - Weekly Pay

Shift: M-F, 7:30-4.00pm

Job Summary

The Associate Warehouse Worker is responsible for providing excellent sales support and customer service by assisting the distribution team with receiving, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment activities. The position also supports organizational Lean objectives and maintains a safe, clean, and efficient warehouse environment.

This is an 18-month probationary position with the opportunity to progress to the T06/Journeyman level upon successful completion of the required training and performance expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and ship outbound parcels and receive inbound products.
• Process and maintain accurate transactions within the ERP system.
• Support team goals by completing assigned tasks while meeting key performance targets.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including pallet areas, racks, shelves, aisles, and workstations.
• Prepare hazardous-material (Hazmat) documentation for UPS, FedEx, LTL, and other applicable shipments.
• Prepare Bills of Lading and other required shipping documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform cycle counts using appropriate warehouse equipment.
• Operate warehouse material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow established organizational procedures and standards to maintain quality service.
• Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

The position involves working in a warehouse/workshop environment that may include:

• Variable temperatures, including hot conditions during summer and cold conditions during winter.
• Exposure to noise, dust, and other airborne particles.
• Operation of large equipment and machinery, including forklifts and production equipment.
• Prolonged periods of standing and physical warehouse activity.

Safety Requirements

• Follow all applicable company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
• Properly label, handle, store, and transport hazardous materials in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including:
• • Steel-toe safety boots
  • Safety glasses
  • Safety vest
  • Additional PPE as required
• Follow all safety procedures when operating warehouse equipment and machinery.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and move materials weighing 50+ lbs.
• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Load and unload trucks and handle warehouse materials.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders as required.
• Ability to work effectively in a variable warehouse climate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good basic mathematical skills.
• Experience operating power equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, integrity, and quality.
• Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and meet performance expectations.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules as required.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
