About the Role
At St. Vincent de Paul, every neighbor who walks through our doors deserves to be welcomed with dignity and respect, whether they come for financial help, material aid, or simply a kind face. In this role, you’ll be that welcoming presence. You’ll work mainly in our Neighbor Services office, so a keen eye for detail and comfort with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more) will help you thrive. You’ll also step in as backup to our bookkeeper from time to time.
If you’re a people person who enjoys serving individuals from all walks of life, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Help neighbors schedule food pantry pick-up appointments
- Connect callers and visitors with the right staff member
- Handle general office work, including email, copying, data entry, and filing
- Process payroll
- Support our bookkeeper with SVdP finances, including checks, purchasing, bank deposits, donation processing and notes, and other bookkeeping tasks
- Scan neighbors’ hard-copy files and enter them into REN, guided by the NS Associate II
- Cover for Neighbor Services teammates who are out or on vacation
- Pitch in with other duties as needed
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma
- At least 1 year of related work experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a careful eye for detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (experience with REN software is a plus)
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English (Spanish is a helpful bonus)
- No felony convictions
