Journeyman Machinist, CNC Grinder, Night Shift

$25 to $30 an hour, and more for the right person. Full-time, direct hire, night shift, at a precision job shop in Toledo.

Plan on about 50 hours a week, so overtime is built in.

About 40 people work at this plant, and it is part of a larger manufacturing group that hires all year.

This is a job shop. No babysitting one machine. You set up your own jobs and hold tight tolerances on your own. Programmers write the programs; you edit at the machine.

The work:

- Set up and run CNC and manual mills and lathes

- Surface grinding on CNC and manual surface grinders. We really need someone strong on the grinders.

- Hold tight tolerances and check your own parts

- Edit programs at the machine: conversational controls on the lathes, Mastercam programs on the mills

You need:

- A journeyman card, or at least 4 years of hands-on machining

- Your own setups, start to finish

- Surface grinder experience, manual or CNC

- Able to work nights, about 50 hours a week

- A steady work history

No degree required. Experience is what counts.
