CNC Machine Operator

CNC Machine Operator - 1st Shift
Location: Sandusky, OH
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $30.00 an hour (Based on experience)

Local Company is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our Fabrication team on 1st shift. This role is responsible for operating CNC and metal fabrication equipment to manufacture high-quality steel products while meeting engineering and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC equipment including laser, press brake, lathe, mill, and plasma machines
• Perform machine setups and operate fabrication equipment such as saws, shear, punch press, drill press, cold saw, reamers, and other production machinery
• Program machines and troubleshoot equipment to ensure quality production
• Inspect products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications
• Perform mechanical assembly work as assigned
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Assist with training and mentoring new operators when needed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CNC machining experience preferred, especially with press brakes and fiber optic lasers
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers preferred
• Ability to operate hand tools and read a tape measure within 1/16"
• Basic math skills, including converting fractions and decimals
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to pass a pre-employment math and measurement test

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and use of hands and arms

Work Environment: Industrial metal fabrication facility with exposure to machinery, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. PPE, including steel-toe shoes, is required.
