Job Title: General Production Stone Fabrication and Polishing

Job Description

This role focuses on hands-on production work in a stone fabrication facility, including polishing, preparing, and inspecting stone countertops and related products. You will work with polishing tools and modern machinery to finish stone surfaces to a high standard of quality while supporting overall shop organization and workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld and stationary polishing and buffing tools with diamond pads and compounds to refine edges, countertops, and backsplashes.
  • Prepare stone slabs by staging materials, wetting surfaces to control dust and friction, and setting up work areas for polishing and finishing.
  • Clean and polish finished stone pieces before shipping to ensure they meet quality and appearance standards.
  • Inspect stone surfaces for scratches, dull spots, chips, or uneven areas and perform touch-ups or rework as needed.
  • Label, tag, and organize finished countertops and stone products for loading and delivery, ensuring accurate tracking of work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe shop floor by clearing debris, organizing tools and materials, and following housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist with general production tasks such as cutting, assembly, packaging, and material handling to support overall workflow.
  • Operate or assist with machine operation and general production equipment as directed to meet daily production targets.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to operate handheld and stationary polishing and buffing tools using diamond pads and compounds.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long shifts, work in a fast-paced environment, and lift heavy stone materials.
  • Strong attention to detail with an eye for matching sheen, texture, and overall quality on natural stone and quartz surfaces.
  • Experience in stone fabrication, warehouse work, or operating wet polishers and grinders is preferred.
  • Comfort with general labor and production tasks, including cutting, machine operation, material handling, assembly, and packaging.
  • Ability to follow work orders and instructions accurately and maintain organized labeling and tracking of finished products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, general production, or fabrication environments is beneficial.
  • Experience with general machine operating in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Willingness to learn trade skills related to countertop fabrication, polishing, and installation under the guidance of experienced leads.
  • Reliability in working overtime when needed to meet production deadlines.

Why Work Here?

You gain practical, hands-on trade skills by working directly under experienced leads in a modern stone fabrication facility. The operation offers exposure to advanced, energy-efficient stone processing equipment and provides a stable environment backed by decades of industry experience in the regional construction and remodeling market. You can build a long-term career path in a specialized trade while contributing to high-quality finished products.

Work Environment

The role is based in a modern, approximately 20,000-square-foot stone fabrication facility equipped with contemporary, energy-efficient stone processing equipment such as CNC and sawjet machines. The work environment is fast-paced, with a wet atmosphere due to the use of water in polishing and cutting processes. Workloads can be heavy, and overtime hours may be required to ensure countertops and stone products are completed on schedule. You will spend most of the day on your feet, handling stone materials, operating tools and machinery, and working on the shop floor in a production setting.
