Lead-Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse - Full-time

Schedule: Part time, 24 hours per week, Monday-Friday day shift This position serves as the point person for the Cardiac Rehabilitation program and associated services including activities relating to the daily functioning of the cardiac rehab department, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. Oversees patient referrals and session schedulingCompletes compliance activities including reviewing charging functions dailyLeads the day to day operations of the department, including formulating staff schedulesLeads department QAPI activitiesCompiles department statisticsWrites, reviews, revises and implements policies and procedures specific to Cardiac RehabMonitors patients EKG response to exerciseInterprets and responds to dysrhythmiaSupervises and monitors the patient constantly throughout exercise sessionTeaches pulse-taking and exertion perception rating skillsAssists with assessing the patients needs and setting goals for lifestyle modificationPerforms admission interviewsPerforms recordkeeping functionsMaintains the patient's medical recordAssists in the provision of holistic care to the cardiac rehabilitation patientPerforms individualized education and instruction to patients and familiesCommunicates effectively with medical staff, hospital personnel, patients and familiesResponsible for carrying out physician orders as they relate to cardiac rehabilitationRecognizes patient needs and makes referrals for ancillary servicesPerforms basic physical assessment of patientsIdentifies risk factors and motivates patient and family to adopt lifestyle modificationsRecords and reports any changes in patient condition/status
