Role Overview:

The Client  emphasized the need for an experienced writer who can independently create clear, accurate procedures and work effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs).

The Client  is looking for a strong, independent procedure writer rather than a candidate who needs basic writing training.

Proven desktop procedure-writing experience, the ability to follow style guides, and skill in extracting information from SMEs are the highest priorities.

Commercial banking and control procedure experience would strengthen a candidate's profile but are not mandatory.

Required Skills and Experience

Desktop Procedure writing: Proven experience writing detailed, step-by-step instructions.

Control Procedure Writing:

Style guide experience: Familiarity with writing and style guides, including parallel structure, action verbs, and consistent formatting. Candidates must be able to follow an established guide without basic writing instruction.

Complex Content Development: Ability to turn complex policies, PowerPoint presentations, and technical information into clear, usable procedures and guidance documents.

SME engagement: Ability to lead discussions, ask probing questions, identify missing steps and information gaps, and translate expert knowledge into written documentation.

Deadline management: Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver accurate content within tight deadlines.

Nice-to-have qualifications:

Control procedure writing experience, in addition to desktop procedures.

Commercial banking knowledge, including familiarity with credit, loans, lines of credit, and credit policies.

Previous Client experience, particularly using its Policy Governance Platform (PGP).

Experience in CSBB or related banking operations, legal services, or learning services.

Commercial banking experience is preferred but not mandatory. Strong procedure-writing experience is the primary requirement.

Nature of the Work

The writer will handle a variety of documentation assignments, including:

Creating new procedures from scratch.

Converting presentations and complex source materials into step-by-step procedures.

Updating existing procedures following policy or system changes.

Supporting system releases that affect multiple procedures.

Developing and maintaining control documentation, including manual, semi-automated, and automated controls.

Supporting quality assurance, quality control, testing, and remediation activities.

The role requires independent thinking, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify gaps in information provided by SMEs.

Tools and Systems:

The team's assignment-tracking tool is called Info Center, a homegrown, SharePoint-based system.

Procedures are published through Client's Policy Governance Platform (PGP).

Experience with these specific systems is not required, as training will be provided.

Previous PGP experience is beneficial.
