Assistant Chief Engineer (bakery)

Position Overview:
We are seeking for a skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to join our team at our high-speed automated bakery in Hayward, CA.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in bakery operations, a strong understanding of automated systems, and an electrical background.

This is a management-level role focused on ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of bakery equipment while leading a team of technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the Chief Engineer in managing the maintenance department and overseeing all mechanical and electrical operations within the bakery.

2. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high-speed automated bakery equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

3. Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to enhance team performance and skills.

4. Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.

5. Collaborate with production teams to address equipment issues and optimize production processes.

6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

7. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and spare parts inventory.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-speed automated bakery environment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in bakery machinery and automated systems.

• Electrical background preferred, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.

• Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and training maintenance teams.
