Structural welder 3g 4g steel 1st class

kad is seeking an experienced 1st Class Structural Welder to perform steel welding and fabrication work in a shipyard repair environment. This role is well suited to a skilled, safety-conscious professional with demonstrated structural welding ability in 3G and 4G positions. This is not an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding on steel in 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead) positions
• Weld using stick and flux-core processes in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards
• Support vessel and structural repair work in a shipyard setting
• Read and interpret drawings, work orders, and welding specifications
• Fit, align, and prepare steel components for welding as needed
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and conformance to specifications
• Use cutting, grinding, and other common hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and site safety policies
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipyard repair and welding
• Demonstrated 1st class structural welding skills in 3G and 4G positions on steel
• Ability to pass a pre-test in both stick and flux-core welding
• Ability to read and follow drawings and welding specifications
• Proficiency with welding equipment and common hand and power tools
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions
• Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail
• Ability to understand and communicate in English as required for safe and efficient job execution
