About this job
Job Description
Behavior Technician (RBT)
Orange County, CA · In-home
A small team, steady clients, a BCBA who actually answers — and a real path to becoming one yourself.
Grace Connections ABA is a small, clinician-led pediatric practice in Orange County. We work with children in their homes, and we want every family and every person on our team to be known by name.
Our belief
We practice assent-based ABA. Connection before compliance. When a child tells us no, stop, or break, in words or through behavior, we listen. If that's how you want to work with kids, you'll fit here.
Your path to BCBA
Want to become a BCBA? We'll help you get there. You'll work side by side with our BCBA and get mentorship from people who know your goals. As you grow with us, you'll have the opportunity to earn supervised fieldwork hours toward your certification. We love growing our own clinicians.
Why technicians like it here
- Steady clients. You work with the same kids week after week, build a real relationship, and get to see them grow.
- Your BCBA answers. If something isn't working with a child, you say so and it gets addressed.
- Room to grow. Working toward your BCBA, or thinking about it? Tell us. We'll talk about how we can support you.
- Paid drive time and mileage. Your time on the road is work time.
- A multidisciplinary team. You'll be around speech and occupational therapists, which is a great place to learn.
- Everything provided. Materials, data collection software and equipment.
What you'll do
- Deliver 1:1 ABA sessions with children at home and in the community, following the treatment plan your BCBA writes
- Collect session data and write accurate notes
- Help parents carry strategies over between sessions
- Meet regularly with your supervising BCBA
Who we're looking for
- RBT certification preferred. Not certified yet but have experience with kids and want to get certified? Tell us. We're open to it.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Coursework in psychology, education or child development is a plus.
- Experience with children, especially children with autism. Classroom, camp, caregiving and professional experience all count.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Patience, playfulness, and a real liking for kids
- Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus, not a requirement
- Able to pass a background check
