Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an adult acute care unit serving patients with conditions including elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder disease, and cellulitis
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering safe, high-quality Medical Surgical nursing care
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
• Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• May be required to serve in a charge nurse role and/or precept other staff
• Float within skillset to other units as operationally required

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Proficiency in Medical Surgical nursing care, including experience with Rapid Response and Code teams
• Charge nurse experience required
• Must work at least one holiday per 13-week contract; winter holiday assignments may require coverage of two holidays
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are generally not accepted; candidates residing 50–99.9 miles away may be considered for a single 13-week assignment with no eligibility to extend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers also considered
• Experience precepting nursing staff
• Familiarity with caring for post-surgical and trauma patient populations
