This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in international shipping, import operations, and supply chain logistics. Previous freight forwarding or import experience is a plus, but it is not required. Our client is willing to train someone with the right attitude, strong computer skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a genuine desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and providing timely shipment updates.
- Enter shipment information accurately into internal systems and maintain organized records.
- Communicate with customers, overseas agents, shipping carriers, customs brokers, and transportation providers.
- Track shipments and follow up on delivery schedules to help ensure timely arrivals.
- Assist with reviewing shipping documents and verifying information for accuracy.
- Help coordinate customs clearance, trucking, and other transportation arrangements.
- Prepare freight invoices and assist with basic billing documentation.
- Monitor shipment progress and help resolve delays, discrepancies, or other service-related issues.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the import team.
- Develop an understanding of international shipping procedures, import documentation, and freight forwarding operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a professional and helpful approach.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Comfortable communicating with customers and coordinating with multiple parties.
- Previous internship or work experience in logistics, international business, customer service, or administration is a plus, but not required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking for someone who wants more than just an entry-level job—they want to build a long-term career in international logistics. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate or early-career professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems, using technology, and coordinating details to keep things running smoothly.
If you are bilingual in Mandarin and English, have a college degree, and are excited to learn how international shipments move around the world, we encourage you to apply!
Pay Range: $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience.
