About this job
Job Description
Are you an experienced medical insurance collector who knows how to get claims paid? Do you enjoy investigating denials, challenging insurance companies, and finding solutions when others hit a dead end? We want to meet you!
Who We Are
ACM is an established medical billing company specializing in chiropractic and physical therapy billing. We take pride in our expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to getting results for our providers.
We're looking for a knowledgeable, motivated Medical Insurance A/R Collector to join our team. This isn't just about making follow-up calls—we want someone who can investigate, analyze, problem-solve, and take ownership of getting claims resolved. This position focuses almost entirely on insurance collections—not patient collections.
What You'll Do
- Insurance A/R Follow-Up: Work outstanding claims with PPO, HMO, Medicare, workers' compensation, and personal injury insurance.
- Denials & Appeals: Research denials, identify errors, challenge improper processing, and pursue payment through resolution.
- Authorizations: Review authorizations received from providers, update patient accounts and rebill claims as needed.
- Incoming Calls: Handle calls from insurance companies, providers, and patients.
- Investigate & Analyze: Identify patterns, recurring payer issues, and opportunities to improve collections.
- Follow Through: Stay on top of unresolved claims and hold insurance companies accountable.
REQUIRED Qualifications
Minimum 2 YEARS of experience in MEDICAL INSURANCE A/R COLLECTIONS. Applicants must have direct experience following up on unpaid or denied medical claims with insurance companies.
We are seeking an experienced medical insurance collector who understands claims, EOBs, denials, appeals, and insurance reimbursement.
Preferred Experience
- Medisoft practice management software
- Chiropractic and/or physical therapy billing
- PPO/HMO and Medicare insurance follow-up
- Workers' compensation and personal injury claims
The Person We're Looking For
We want someone who:
- Doesn't take "no" for an answer without understanding WHY.
- Is confident, professional, and firm when dealing with insurance companies.
- Questions inconsistencies rather than accepting explanations at face value.
- Thinks outside the box and finds creative solutions.
- Can spot patterns and identify underlying problems.
- Is detail-oriented, organized, persistent, and resourceful.
- Takes initiative and follows claims through to resolution.
Schedule & Work Location
- Full-time position — 40 hours per week
- 100% in-office for the first 6 months (required)
- Potential opportunity for a hybrid schedule after 6 months, based on performance and business needs
Why Join ACM?

We're looking for someone who wants to become a valued part of our team—not just fill a seat.
If you're an experienced medical insurance collector who enjoys a challenge and takes pride in getting results, we'd love to hear from you!
