HR Absence & Disability Specialist

Location: (Hybrid) Starting in Bethpage, NY / Melville, NY in Jan 2027
Duration: Long-Term Contract through Dec 2027

Our client is seeking an Absence & Disability Specialist to support employee leave administration and absence management activities in a fast-paced HR environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day absence and disability cases
• Communicate with employees and managers regarding leave status and time coding questions
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders
• Maintain and organize employee records and reporting
• Assist with process improvements and data consolidation projects
• Utilize Excel to track and manage information accurately

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• HR, leave administration, disability, or employee relations experience preferred
• Talent Acquisition experience is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) is a plus
