Construction Cleaner

Job Description

This role focuses on final cleaning in a large commercial data center under construction. You ensure that server rooms, racks, and surrounding areas are spotless and safe by performing detailed cleaning tasks throughout the facility, including work at elevated heights on ladders and lifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform final cleaning of data center areas, ensuring all spaces meet high cleanliness standards before project completion.
• Wipe down server racks, equipment surfaces, and surrounding structures to remove dust and debris.
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walkways, and common areas throughout the facility.
• Use a broom duster to clean servers, wires, and overhead structures while working approximately 8 feet up on a ladder.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on an active commercial or industrial construction site.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines while working at heights and around construction activities.
• Use lifts and other cleaning equipment as required, in accordance with training and certifications.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and site personnel when coordinating work.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or site concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Handle cleaning tools, buffers, and equipment responsibly to avoid damage to sensitive data center infrastructure.

Essential Skills

• Proven cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial environment.
• Experience working on active commercial or industrial construction sites.
• Comfort working at heights, including standing on ladders approximately 8 feet off the ground.
• OSHA 10 certification in construction safety.
• Lift certification, including experience with construction lifts.
• Ability to use scissor lifts safely; boom lift experience is a strong plus.
• General labor skills, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and basic housekeeping.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
• Reliability in maintaining a consistent MondayFriday schedule from early morning through mid-afternoon.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Janitorial or sanitation experience in any setting.
• Prior experience in customer-facing roles with direct customer interaction.
• Experience using buffers or other powered cleaning equipment.
• Strong attention to detail when cleaning around sensitive equipment such as server racks and wiring.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team on large, complex projects.
• Willingness to commute to different site locations as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based on data center construction sites with work hours from 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The environment is an active commercial/industrial construction setting, with ongoing trades and equipment operating nearby. You work both on the floor and at heights, including on ladders and potentially on scissor or boom lifts, while cleaning around server racks and electrical infrastructure. Required attire includes jeans and steel-toe boots; all additional personal protective equipment is provided. The role involves regular physical activity such as standing, walking, climbing ladders, and handling cleaning tools and equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, TX.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
