1st shift Lab Technician

ABR is recruiting for 1st shift Lab Technician in Central Wisconsin
Hours are 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., 5 on 5 off, 2 on 2 off schedule. Wage is starting at $20-21 per hour plus full benefits package upon hire.
Lab Technician Position Summary
The Lab Technician supports product safety and quality at our dairy manufacturing facility by performing laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and GMP verification activities. This role focuses on microbiological testing of finished products, plant environmental sampling, and internal GMP audits to ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality standards.Lab Technician Key Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological and quality testing on finished products following approved methods and procedures
• Collect environmental samples throughout the plant as part of the environmental monitoring program
• Accurately document laboratory results, sampling data, and audit findings
• Support product hold and release decisions by communicating test results to the QA Supervisor
• Conduct GMP observations and participate in monthly internal GMP audits
• Identify and report deviations, unusual results, or food safety concerns promptly
• Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and proper use of equipment
• Support HACCP, SQF/GFSI, and other quality system activities as assigned

Lab Technician Qualifications:

• Associate degree or coursework in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred
• Previous experience in a food or dairy laboratory environment is a plus
• Knowledge of basic microbiology and aseptic sampling techniques
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
• Ability to accurately complete documentation and maintain data integrity
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and performing plant-floor observations
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production facility
• Ability to lift and handle samples and supplies up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work in refrigerated, wet, or humid environments
• Ability to follow PPE and hygiene requirements at all times
