This position focuses on accurate, high-volume payment application and account research, supporting the integrity of accounts receivable activity across daily transactions. The ideal candidate brings recent hands-on ERP experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to investigate discrepancies while keeping cash posting and reconciliation work moving efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Process daily customer receipts across electronic payments, checks, and lockbox activity, ensuring funds are recorded promptly and accurately.
• Apply incoming payments to open invoices in a high-volume environment while resolving mismatches between remittances and account balances.
• Monitor and research unapplied or unidentified cash, documenting findings and maintaining a clear audit trail for follow-up actions.
• Perform cash posting, clearing, reversals, and related transaction research within the ERP system to support accurate receivable records.
• Reconcile bank-related cash movement, including sweep activity and zero-balance account transactions, and record concentration entries as needed.
• Investigate short payments and deductions, determine the underlying cause, and escalate collection-related items when additional review is required.
• Support cross-entity cash activity by handling intercompany transfers and postings in a multi-company accounting environment when applicable.
• Contribute to process improvements that strengthen posting accuracy, reduce exceptions, and improve reconciliation efficiency.• Proven experience in cash application, accounts receivable, and daily payment posting within a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Recent hands-on ERP experience with the ability to explain day-to-day workflows related to posting, clearing, research, and transaction reversals.
• Working knowledge of transaction codes such as FBL5N, FB05, F-32, FB03, FEBA_LOCKBOX, FF_5, FLB2, and FB08.
• Strong understanding of invoice matching, unapplied cash resolution, and research of missing remittance details or unknown receipts.
• Experience with cash sweeps, zero-balance accounts, cash concentration activity, and the related general ledger impact.
• Ability to identify and resolve short pays, partial payments, and deduction-related issues with a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with multi-entity or intercompany accounting activity, including due-to/due-from transactions and cross-company postings, is preferred.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong documentation habits, sound judgment, and a focus on preventing errors through quality checks.
