Quality Inspector

SUMMARY

Performs dimensional and electrical inspection of received items to the extent necessary to determine conformance to purchase order, engineering drawing, specification and quality requirements. Reviews and verifies vendor supplied documentation. Maintains electronic receiving inspection history files and Documents nonconformances. Requests assistance as required from other departments to ensure adequate verification of requirements. Performs required work within established time standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Determines the method of inspection, set-up and required tools to adequately verify each requirement or feature
• Performs inspections as required by purchase orders, work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, standards, sketches and other documents
• Inspect items to specified tolerances, including angular and linear dimensions, GD&T
• Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards per ISO 9001 and Six Sigma
• Ensures the proper personal protective equipment is used when required and conducts safety checks
• Performs all work in an ESD safe manner

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Quality Assurance, Engineering or similar discipline preferred
• High School Diploma

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in using inspection tools and technologies including but not limited to; thread gages, pin gages, calipers, micrometers and multimeters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and understand computer programs such as Epicor ERP System
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Goal-oriented self-starter with a sense of urgency
• Ability to work effectively in a team-centered environment
