Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Physician

Weare seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with trauma fellowshiptraining for ongoing PRN locum tenens coverage in the Richmond, VA area. Thisopportunity provides inpatient orthopedic trauma coverage at a busy Level ITrauma Center, including call, surgical procedures, consultations, andinpatient rounding.

Schedule

OngoingPRN coverage to fill gaps in the call schedule

24-houron-site call shifts, including overnight coverage

Typicalpatient volume: Approximately 8 patients per shift

The Facility:

460+bed acute care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Burn Center

BusyED with 95K+ annual visits, dedicated pediatric ED, and dual helipads

15+ORs with robotic surgery capability

Establishedortho trauma team of physicians and APPs

Meditech(inpatient) and eCW (outpatient)

Responsibilities

Provideon-site orthopedic trauma call coverage.

Evaluateand manage inpatient orthopedic trauma consultations.

Performorthopedic trauma surgeries as indicated.

Conductinpatient rounding and coordinate ongoing patient care.

Managecomplex fractures and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries.

Collaboratewith an established orthopedic trauma team of physicians and advanced practice providers.

Qualifications& Requirements

MDor DO degree

BoardCertified in Orthopedic Surgery

Orthopedictrauma fellowship training and relevant certifications

ActiveVirginia medical license or ability to obtain one
